About Vurb

We talk faster than we type, and we wanted that to work in every app on the computer, not just inside one product. We also didn't want our voice sent to a server just to get a sentence into a chat window. OpenAI's Whisper model runs fast enough on a laptop now, so we put it behind a single key.

That's most of the app. It transcribes 12 seconds of speech in about 0.3 seconds on an M-series Mac with the best model. It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux, because the people we work with use all three.

A few things we intend to keep true:

• Your audio stays on your computer.
• The free plan is usable every day.
• Paid plans are priced so a whole team can afford them.
• When something isn't built yet, we say so.
